Was there too ( red white racesail and NED 131 number ) and did 33 knots average with a ripped sail ( crashed severely and punctured the sailed badly with my harness hook when trying to do speeds that didn't fit the water conditions )
Peak speeds just over 35 knots doppler speed since I had to sail with a bigger board ( 120 L and sail 5.6 ) and started flying when trying to go faster.
Today should become even better.
EDIT: It was a realy lousy day today at the third of August at Crissy

You are obviously a far more manly man than I.
I'm sure you would just screw the camera mount directly into your skull. |

Hmm. OK, so Saturday was off the hook near the beach, super windy and super fun.
But Sunday the 3rd was, in a word, glorious at the North Tower, outside the Gate, at the South Tower, and all points inbetween. Got lots of witnesses this time, as there were at least 20 of us out there. The only bummer was the breakage...Marty with ANOTHER harness hook (does that make three or four this year?) and Faris' board, and those are only the things I know about.
You have to get used to Crissy and go where the wind and good conditions are. Then you won't think a day that's light or flukey near the beach is lousy. We used the same gear as Saturday too...and were all just as powered. But the swell was working, huge, smooth like butter, it was sunny...seriously a weekend full of moments that tell you to your face it's great to be alive. Saturday AND Sunday. |
