It's been years since I've windsurfed on Saratoga Lake, but, you'll want to hook up with the Adirondack Boardsailing Club or ABC. Look into Sacandaga Res. as well. Saratoga Lake may still lack the open shore line areas you'll need to rig on and the local sheriff' marine patrol used to strictly enforce NYS's PFD codes. Good luck. RC |

Just sailed Saratoga today and if was a prime example why no one kites Saratoga unless it's winter time. Up and down winds which started from the NE at around 12-15, then shifted thru the east and ended up SE and then died to 5 mph. This while all the wind sensors around were either W or NW. Also there is no public access other then a new City beach in the Northwest corner of the lake.
The ABC does meet at the SLSC the third Thursday of the Month.
You might want to think about kiting at Sacandaga Res instead once the town beaches closes. The ABC can give you access info. |
