Hey group mind of the San Francisco persuasion, does anyone have any experience with the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival? It's being held Oct 3-5 at Golden Gate Park, an outrageous lineup of great artists, and it's FREE!!! It's probably a bit late in the season for wind, but the promise of some cool tunes might just send a few of us northward. Thanks, Bull

It's fantastic -- unbelievable line-up of incredible musicians. By all means you should go. And as an extra bonus, many of the performers end up going to Slim's on Friday and Saturday after Strictly Bluegrass, and do unannounced shows. You'll never see people like Emmylou Harris in a more intimate setting.

You forgot to mention that between the festival and going to slims, all the bluegrass musicians usually head out to Crissy for a quick sessions. You know how that salt water toughen's up your fiddle calluses.

Hey Bull - don't tell anyone, but October can be the best time of year on the c0@$+. There, its in code. No one can possibly break it. Wouldn't want the big "secret" to get out. Not that Windsurf Mag did an entire six page article on Joe, or anything. They named names and places Shocked

When the plate is full, most share. Just kookin' out. Do I smell a rose?

I highly recommend HSBG, as well as the SF Blues Festival during the last week of Sept and Outside Lands later this month!

Yeah,
Its one of the few times that the Richmond Dist. has something to offer.
Very mellow vibe, lots of blue grass, green grass, green buds etc........
If you live in SF take muni. If you plan on driving, park way back in the aves and walk it in. This is like the most isolated part of GGP turned into a 5 ring circus for 3 days. Everything is limited. Awesome!

Easy on the Richmond Lads! Born and Raised and would trade the San Fernando Valley for it anytime!!!!!!!! Did not windsurf when I lived there. Doooooo! My girls go to HSBG every year and rave about it. Way more then the name implies.Speedway Meadows has hosted The Dead, Airplane, Janis, Carlos, and just about everybody worth listening to for forty years. Great event, great venue, but yes parking nightmare! Park anywhere then bike/hike/skateboard/limo etc. and buy my daughters Tee Shirts at Pockets Play Your Heart Out booth!
WooHoo!
BTW Gregor is the only sane man here!
