Sewage tanker overturned a little west of Leo Carillo Beach this morning. PCH closed. Should be open again later this morning. No word yet on whether the spill reached the ocean.

Is sewage one of the major exports of Southern California? Or is that just the movies I'm thinking of?

KVTA News:

A stretch of Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura County was closed for almost 3 hours Wednesday morning after a tanker truck loaded with septic tank waste overturned and spilled it load on the highway south of Deer Creek Road. The accident happened around 4:30 AM. The overturned truck, and the spill, covered the entire roadway, prompting the closure. The CHP, Caltrans, the Ventura County Fire Department, Environmental Health, and other local and state agencies responded, not only to deal with the accident and road closure, but also the environmental issues raised by the spill. The truck was removed, and the spill cleared to the sides of the road within a couple of hours. The roadway was reopened around 7:40 AM. No one was injured in the incident. An investigation into the accident, and the rest of the clean up, went on for several hours.
