I'd have to agree. Its been my best year ever. I've tied my record of most days sailed in a year, since keeping a log (1997) and the season is NOT over.
I would also agree there have been no monster days of swell on the coast, but plenty of over-head to near mast high days with good shape. Also, some of those days came in July and August, which I have never seen mid-summer. I actually prefer logo high to mast to over-mast high insane anyway. Just like I prefer 4.7 to 3.7 wind. White knuckle conditions don't promote fluid sailing, but do keep the blood circulating! |

Welcome to (unknown, untold, unfavored, etc ????) windsurf paradise my friend (or at least it is pretty darn close). As said, I moved here 4yrs ago, and never regret a single day. In Sweden I managed to sail maybe 50 days a year, of which half in weather conditions many spoiled SFBA rats (me now included) would consider pure arctic, the other half I'd be cruising on a 6.5 in a 3/2. And that was without a job, wife, and 2 kids. Now even with all the latter, I can still get 100 days a year here, mostly in the 4.7-5.3 wind range... go figure... Even a bad yr here is still very good, and the season here never ends. |

Yeah, great year for SF Bay sailing. I usually end up driving the 1 1/2 hours to the Delta a few times every season in search of mid-summer wind when the SW fog comes streaming into the Bay and kills the local wind, but didn't have to make the drive even once this year. Between Candlestick, Coyote and Palo Alto, it blew almost every day! (with a few brief breaks like the forest fire week Carl mentioned...). Gotta love it! |

Excellent season. It's just a gift that keeps giving. Waddell, 3rd, Coyote, Crissy, all have outperformed. And now, even before those sites are dead Half Moon Bay comes online.
Rock on brothers.. |

48 mph predicted for Natural Bridges today. Anyone have a well shaped handkerchief with battens in it? |
