Gorgetec-
The park at the Fort Pierce S. Jetty is where everyone goes during the typical N / NE winds you will encounter this time of year. It's an easy launch with no shorebreak, but you get out to some nice swells and breakers beyond the jetty. Mostly kiters with some windsurfers (like me).
It's right at the intersection of Seaway Drive and S Ocean Drive in Fort Pierce, Florida. (Enter that in google maps and you can see it.)

Thanks for the suggestion, James. I'm staying just down the road from there. Last time I was here in the Spring, I launched from the park on the north side of the jetty.
Any suggestions for other launches either south or north? Indian river launches? for west wind days?

I don't know about W wind kite launches on the Lagoon side, but you could ask some of the other kiters when you're at the S. Jetty tomorrow. I'll be there from ~10 am - noon when the winds are supposed to be jammin' from the NE. There are some lagoon launches for windsurfing to the South around Jensen Beach and Stuart that might work, as well as some parks along the way (down A1A) that might have west-wind exposed launches. The only websites I know of for local launch information are:

Thanks for the info. I'll have to try and get out there sometime this winter. The winds definitely have been good along the treasure coast. |

And the winds definitely have been fresher on the Cape during the last week. |
