I'm San Fran Local in Miami for the holidays.

Driving from miami to savannah on saturday, all day sunday in savannah, driving back monday.

Hopefully I can get in a session or two.

I would appreciate any suggestions on a target spot where I can rent gear and get some TOW.

Are there typical weather patterns that lead better chances in the morning or afternoon.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi Show,

There are quite a few launches between Miami and Cape Canaveral. Check here for a start.

For spots to rent gear, check Windsurfing Magazine's list of shops and schools.

You might have to contact the shops individually to see which do rentals.

As far as I can tell, there's no rhyme or reason to what time of the day the wind blows- sometimes it's better in the morning, sometimes mid day, sometimes late afternoon. There might be a little more wind around Cape Canaveral than the other spots between Miami and Savannah, on average.

I doubt that. The only reason the area has become more of a board sailing one would be because there's more flat water than anywhere else on the coast. The shipping/boating traffic can also be more easily avoided.

That's a long haul. As a traveling salesman, I've found a place or 3 along the way. St Simons old USCG station beach is my favorite for coastal GA. Hanna Park or Huegonaut in Jax. Looks like a SW wind over the weekend. Titusville causeway is good for that. That's about midway. in FL Too bad your luck would be for a SW wx condition. My least fav.....

Geez, Brucie, no matter where you go or what you do, you posit as the expert.

At least you're not pontificating on the Cape these days.
