Nauset Beach had head high conditions yesterday, one after another, with no one out. FYI to Outcast - too big for me.

I was away for the holidays but am planning on surfing somewhere tomorow. If the wind comes up it will be an unexpected surprise. I'll have my sails just in case. _________________ http://waterloggedbyscooper.blogspot.com/ |

I went to Nauset today. 1 of 20+- surfers in the water. Some at head+ high.
Did too much before to set myself up for a sllight hamstring pull - 1-1/2 hour bike, 2 hours of yard work
Quit while I was ahead. One of the few times that I have ranked a day (C-) while only getting one half-assed ride. If that was a sailing session, it would have been totally unacceptable. Reason for at least a passing grade - human contact with a couple of guys I've come to like in my new sport.
In summary it beats having a woulda, shoulda, coulda day.

You're probably seeing better surfing waves than I have seen here in Florida. However, the water is much warmer. I went in the other day to test out the shore break in board shorts and a long sleeve rash guard. Although there's a chill factor in the wind with a rash guard, under water it's definitely warmer than bare skin. I really had no concern about water temperature, though, once I had been in swimming for a while. Skim boarding is big down here, too. They try and jump the shore break. |

I hit it on a nearby island familiar to scooper.
I thought it was fun, but it wasn't the easiest of swells to read (several swells?). Water warmer than air
Don't worry Ron, a bad sesh always begets a good one. (It's a law)
Bike riding followed by surfing is a favorite pastime, but you can almost assure yourself a cramp or two. Summertime, I will ride until the tide or crowd/ wind is right, then hit the water. Ususally it's my calf or hammy when you are digging at the peak We are just stupid i guess |

You got it Jeff. Trying to paddle off the top of a hill is when I tightened up. The guy who pushed me to go was "big" John, the kid in the other video you sent in the previous thread.
Today was remption day. Total trip time Noon to 2:15. 5.0 at Skaket with a high tide, upper 50s, no gloves w/o even the hint of cold fingers, 50% (low in the sky) sun - overall Grade A for December!!
Enough fooling around for one day (or maybe the whole week)!
