Alex,

I sailed C-St. and it was almost a carbon copy of my last session there when you were there as well. Solid 4.5m wind inside but a 4m would have been better on the outside. Super low tide made the waves stand up on the outer most sandbar for great jumping but the walk through the rocks to launch was long and nasty.

Sounds like Sunset was fun. Never sailed there. How was it? Any wave riding?

Mike

No doubt, C Street was great fun on Saturday. With the long fetch that C Street can see on some windy days, the swell and chop can build to fairly significant levels, even when the ground swell is relatively small.

The one thing that was notable is that the kiters, with the very latest kite designs, are now able to really take advantage of the stronger winds. I was surprised that their numbers were right up there with the number of windsurfer out. It used to be that you would hardly ever see them when the wind was really cranking.

Topanga was disappointing on Saturday. When I got to the beach it looked like solid 5.2 weather, the sensor confirmed that. By the time I finished rigging it was already dropping fast. Of course I went out anyway, hoping it was a temporary lull. It wasn't.

At least the extraordinary low tide made for interesting tide pool exploring. I lost a gold chain while surfing Topanga about 30 years ago, and whenever the tide is low I always check out the tide pools hoping to find it. It would make a hell of a story if I did.

Did anyone sail Leo on Sunday? It looked like it might have been sailable, according to the chart.

Saturday was pretty good at Leo, typical storm winds that were up and down but still sailable. Sunday was just too light on the inside for Leo despite what the graph says.

p.s.
County line on saturday was for the truly adventurous.
