Driving back to White Salmon from Stevenson tonight, it was really cool to see all the spray blasting off the swell (in the moonlight ) at The Hatch.
Parked at the point for a few minutes, and the conditions were easily <3.2 (but gusty).
At around 9:30 p.m. on January 6th, there was tons of parking too!
Where was everybody????

At least one of us (not I, in icy water and hefty current) was pulling off big forwards and backs in 6-7-foot swell smack downtown in Richland, WA (TriCities) five minutes from the office. Temps around 50, sunshine, wind on the water in the 30-50 mph range until it got dark and actually got windy. And look at the Wall overnight and now ... midnight and dawn temps at 60 with winds pushing 60 mph at times.
Too bad the water temp's in the 30s.
