A new much more refined take on a old concept (Mistral mid-90's) by F2: one board that changes shape using a removable tail http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FNrGsjg-zw
Alternative would be to have interchangeable rails: you swap rails on the board and make it wide or narrow. Construction should be easier than the F2, you can just have a "core board" with square rails and provide a set of bolt on alternatives. |

Cool idea! (Mistral Challenge Flex came out in late 80s; 1989 I believe.) _________________ Support Your Sport. Join US Windsurfing!

Interesting... but, what about that step ridge on the bottom on the wave board version when not using the wide tail? Seems it would be a very turbulent surface... Had a Challenge Flex way back- fun but heavy. |

Perhaps the more practicable idea. A 90/105 liter fsw/crossover type board or 110/135 liter freeride? As a design study I love the F2, though. 85 liter wave to 106 liter freeride, complete with rocker change. |
