Just checked the wind reports this morning (Saturday 12/2/06) and Leo Carillo is 24 mph north east, which looks straight offshore. Is Leo Carillo sailable in a easterly/north easterly? |

No good at leo but try the port hueneme pier early mornings when the wind is ene at 25+. Port tack sailing often with large surf but watch out for the lulls. You can sail down the coast and back all the way to the power plant. Beware this is very powerfull wind often gusting to 50 mph and side off shore. |

My wife & I went down to see & take pictures. At 11:45 it was about 30 mph side-off, and actually looked pretty good! Didnt have gear with me, but thats OK cos sailing in strong offshores alone is not a good idea. Should have a photo posted on Wind Junkie.net by the end of the day.

That is good information to know. Thanks. Where do you park when you sail there? |

Sounds fun!, Ive thought about sailing inside the bay at Belmont in Santa Ana Winds, that way it would be blowing onshore, which would be much safer. |
