Sidebar question: Are adustable outhauls really most useful for larger sails, and if so what size ranges? Thanks! ~Steve _________________ Fanatic Ultra Cat, Tabou Rocket 125, Retro 7.0 & 5.0, NX 6.0, 4 seasons sailing, always learning. |

Fred Meyer sells 3M tape 1mm thick with adhesive on both sides.
Stick the tape on the inside of the clamp, then put the clamp on the boom.

walkingman,
A.O.'s are great for 9, 10, 11 meter sails. 7 & 8 are ok, but won't get used as much. Where they provide the best use is on formula boards where you do a lot of upwind and downwind sailing. Flat sail upwind and bagged sail for downwind. If you are just reaching out and back, an A.O. will give you a little more range, but nothing significant.
I have them on my 6.6, 7.6, 8.4, 9.2 & 11.0 |
