any tips out there for launching off ramps, staying in control during flight and prevening spin-outs upon landing?

the ramps at pt. izzy, berkeley, and 3rd ave. are amazing at times, but for me, somewhat intimidating. maybe it's my own personal fear factor that i have to deal with. but i would like to totally commit and just launch! any tips on stance for launching and then landing without spinning out? i've been sailing for 2 decades and i still have "issues". : (

thanks

casey

Seriously tho, all those places are port tack ramps. Look for your ramp, turn upwind into the ramp and roll your feet downwind once you are up. That will cause you to bear off mid-air and land on a broad reach. If you don't do that, you spin out every time.

Naaah. Set the board down gently by extending your legs before your weight comes crashing down. You can take off and land big jumps in a close reach all day this way with no obvious loss of speed or ground.
