I'm definately sailing today. The forecast looks great! Anyone know a good place to get waves on a hot summer southwest kind of day? Most of the wave sites I know of for SW have parking issues in the summer or don't get very good summer thermal type winds. Maybe today is more of a frontal situation than a true thermal? Any ideas?

URI Bay Campus is a great summer launch site for waves. Plenty of free parking and grass rigging area. SW wind on outgoing tide provides the best conditions as it will be today until 2PM.

scooper,
I don't know how far Nahant is for you but that was my destination today. It gets waves when there's a swell and SW is side off. I hit too much traffic today so I turned around went S. Boston, but didn't find a place to park with my trailer, so I headed to Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield. It was great! Some weak lulls followed by fully powered planing. There's a wide shallow area on either side of the lake so if you blow a jibe (not that you would, but I still do) you can do an easy beach start. There were at least a dozen windsurfers, a fleet of sailboats, but plenty of room for all.
Oliver
PS. Liked your pictures and report from Bonaire. Looks like a great place.

How did URI Bay campus work out today? What sensors do you check use for it? I'm very interested as I'm about 15 minutes away, I've just never seem to get there when there's wind.
Any advice on this site would very much cut down my travel time. Thanks.
PS: On my way to Kalmus today, I took a quick detour to Ned's point for the first time. GREAT SESSION! Definitely a place I'll hit again.
