OK, newbie, ...

There is no clearcut "season" here. If you're dedicated, you're on "STANDBY" year-round. We won't be getting the thermals, but what we can expect in the coming months are the gnarliest days local conditions can offer up....howling clearing winds, challenging, messy swells, cold water, and the occasional whale sighting! Make sure the heater in your car works! Laughing

U a beginner kiter? Go to Zuma. Leo Carrillo is off limitz to kiters, especially beginners.

Ahhh, this is hilarious. The Leo sensor ALWAYS shows "lost contact with station", when the wind gets above a certain average. Then, in the evening, it goes "back on" to show what you've missed!

I think Mitch has done something to the sensor.

SO HOW WAS IT TODAY, MITCH?

[quote="mkrasnoff The wind was ripping on the outside from 2 to 4 but very light on the inside.

Sounds like the "Mitch-type" conditions. Laughing Did you have to swim it in? Laughing

Indeed, due to daylight savings and winter hours, one has to decide by 1pm if one will blow off work and other afternoon appointments. That's a tad early to be making such guilt-evoking decisions.

Zuma Headquarters reports partly cloudy skies and haze with 4 miles visibility. Wind speed is 19 knots from the West

Pasted from yesterdays report. I was overpowered through the slot at 2:30, with many Dolphins swimming around. Chest high surf.
