It is time to say thank you to all the people who gave the time , effort and dedication needed to make the event happen. Dealing with all the Government BS could not have been pleasant. And after that was accomplished you got to deal with lots of other problems. You people are finishers and deserve to be recognized as a class act. Thank You!! |

Consider yourself lucky, whatever happened it is nothing compared to the corporate bullshit we are dealing with here, with the America's Cup. |

Thanks, kellygeygan, I'll pass it along to those that deserve it!
dvCali, I feel your pain, but don't underestimate the beauracracy of the L.A. harbor & lifeguards! 9 different agencies! $1,000./day for lifeguards who are already paid to be there! The list goes on & on. _________________ Spennie the Wind Junkie

Thanks Spennie, please pass it on. The tension here in IW during the event was pretty obvious. Anyone who felt a need to complain should donate time and effort to the next event...thats how corrections are made.I wish we had some video of the racing but since I did not shoot that video it is my fault we are now without. |

Yep ... $1000/day is a a lot to pay out for lifeguards but to keep things in perspective: the corporate dragon is a tiny bit more demanding than our government(s).
The most recent update for the bill we in the city will have to pay is $22,000,000. That is 22 millions, to have the privilege to host the America's Cup farce (and cheats: http://blogs.kqed.org/newsfix/2013/09/03/oracle-americas-cup-penalty/) |
