|
|
I've started looping recently, and wanted to try going for what i thought was a goiter. Checked out continentseven.com, doing some mental prep, and then I notice it looks (to me) just like a ponch.
What am I missing? Is it like an endo or cheese roll being different flavors of a forward? |

I posted the same question when I first got on windsurfer. Let's just say I under-estimated how difficult it was going to be for me to learn!! Sheeyut, i couldn't waterstart and was asking about goiters? Well, seven years later I'm finally ready to try it
Thanks for the update! |

A "Goiter" is a Thyroid growth on the neck area caused by iodine deficiency.
A "Ponch" is a large "squishy" area in the lower abdomen extending outward, just a bove the belt line.
It is caused by lack of exercise and excessive beer and food consumtion over the winter months. |

Hi there,
Just recently came across this looking for posts on thyroid information. Do you have any details about thyroid problems in general? Any information on thyroid problems... i have read they can vary.

A goiter and a Ponch are the same move, only a goiter is done on a wave face in side to side off conditions. The difficulty of a true goiter is taking off and landing back on the face of the wave. I ponch is done in on shore or bump and jump conditions, generally off the back of a wave. It's also extremely difficult, and i wouldn't attempt it until after the Flaka (a flat water taka) has been mastered. They are extremely fun though... |
