SF Bay area boards 2002 JP FSW vs 2005 JP RWW

Hi,

I am trying to pick a second board to use in 3rd, Coyote on the 4.7-5.2 days. Right now I am on a 123 Litre Carve, ( I am 155 lbs) and it is quite a bumpy ride, but very safe for an intermediate sailor like myself.

I came accross an older 94 litre 2002 JP FSW, and a more expensive 91Litre 2005 JP RWW. I would like to be able to do the following in order of prority with this new board purchase:
- Learn to jump.
- Even if the wind dies or if there are holes as there are in 3rd sometimes, make it back to my launch site.
- Still be able to uphaul, if the wind completely dies.
- Attempt without getting killed to ride small marginal waves in HMB to at least experience or try to experience waveriding without loss of equipment or life.

I also came accross an 85 litre RRD ( I can't remember the year but 03-05ish), but I think 91-94 ilitre range s where I would like to stay.

What do you guys/gals think?

I had the exact same thought-GET THEE TO MAUI! The boards sound fine for your weight. the current board is a monster for your weight in the bay and you've likely already outgrown it. The earlier JPs sometimes broke when jumped a lot. the newer ones seem to have overcome that problem-that would be my only concern. At 155lbs you will soon be looking at wave boards while us heavyweights want "early planers", you will want control and turning ability, keep that in mind-perhaps a global wave or onshore wave type board will be a good all around in the bay for you.
