Qman, you can't find it because there is a domain name dispute about it between JPBassking and DaBull. Laughing

Oooooh...... I'm in trouble now. Laughing Laughing

finally kev, my first legitimate spock at crissy today. Smile

i'm one of those 40-something year-old guys that kev's talking about. i probably tried 1000 vulcans before i hit one. and then threw it all away by starting to work on spocks. finally, today, after probably 250 tries at a spock, on top of those 1000 tries at a vulcan, i got the stinking spock. and it's ruined my vulcans.

and yeah, i do 'em on the inside, right by the beach (at crissy anyway) because, as others have said, there's a patch of the flattest water anywhere (besides South Padre) right by the beach at crissy, and any bit of chop throws off my timing. there's nothing "hey look at me!" about it (contrary to the first line of this post Smile ).

anyway, some of my best days windsurfing have been in 10 knots of wind doing light wind stuff, or cruising around the mangroves down in bonaire. and as kevin said, sometimes baffing on a flood is a good thing too.

just because someone is goal-oriented and enjoys a challenge doesn't mean they don't have soul john.

NP, is the inference of a domain interference betwixt moi and JP refer to our shared admiration of female genitalia or a Freudian fixation on kitty cats? I think we're confusing TheQ ,he goes on the net for hours trying to find the TP site and keeps coming up with porno... he'll soon need stronger glasses. Poor guy thinks when I mention that I used my 8.0, his muddled mind pictures something other than a Maui Sails MS2!! MEOW, Bull

damis just got his first spock last week, too, and he busted one in front of me at berkeley today..

... and matt got his first one on port last week (also at berkeley) and almost busted one in my grill today, too

How do you say, "Bingo"!? I try to make funny. Sometimes works, sometimes no. No?
Did I hear an "ack!" from jpbassking, in answer to daBull's "Meow"?

BTW: Congrat's to markpaine for his new move.

Thanks Q, appreciate it.

My point really was about the fact that I'm probably certifiably the world's slowest learner on the water. Kev can attest to that, and to my frequent admissions! But it's still a huge amount of fun for me to work on the things I can't do rather than the things I can do. And I don't mind looking like a fool in the process. One of the things I love about the crew I hang out with is the genuine excitement we have when one of our friends learns something new (just wish I could spread the joy back to them more quickly). The fact that Kev can learn an e-slider in 50 tries or Rich never misses his one-handed spocks inside at 3rd doesn't discourage me or engender any feelings of animosity. It just makes me more excited about the possibilities.

I'll do occasional days at Davenport or Waddell (headed to San Carlos on Thursday...two days away!), and sure, sailing waves is a lot of fun too, but I really love windsurfing in all incarnations, and to this day, some of my most memorable days windsurfing were really serene affairs. I bought an F2 Discovery (yep, a big padded deck board with *gasp* a dagger) just last summer because I love going out on light days, and I think it's better for what I want to do in light wind than a Kona. And when I was living on Bonaire I'd break out the big gear every now and then to circumnavigate the little island of Klein Bonaire on the "non-windsurf" side of the island. Those too, are some of my fondest memories of windsurfing.

But I love to freestyle, and I certainly won't make any apologies for searching out the flattest water possible (preferably in an ever-so-slight lull) either right by the beach, in the eerily smooth spot that occasionally forms right dead center under the Golden Gate, or in exactly the same spot where Bull wants to do his jibes.

Oh, you boyz have a one-track mind....

However, after reading the above posts, I am now convinced that "TeamPussy" is in fact a NEEDED ANTITHESIS to the vibe being thrown down by "TeamDawg" from Boyz Town USA.

So, the next question is, who will be the "TeamPussy" videographer? We've got to keep up with "TeamDawg"...they must have an impressive video library of themselves doing the whole Star Trek series......so we too need to shoot ourselves, so to speak...doing what we do best. Cussing on the waves, drinking beer at the top of the stairs, carrying our rig up and down the stairs, doing B&F for 2 hours....hmmmm.......what else? I can't think of anymore....but let's film it anyway and put ourselves up on the internet....'cause everybody needs their 15 minutes.....

Being the antithesis of all that is good, at least according to my soon-to-be ex-wife's attorney, perhaps I should take on this dubious honor. If I can only stop myself from being tempted by the excitement of more B&F moves once the wind pops up.
Be forewarned, once the world sees what Leo Ca-sequis has to offer on South swells, and the shredders that shred that energy, our lives will never be the same. Be careful of what you wish for.
BTW: nealpar, that was funny. Very Happy

In an attempt to return to the topic, “A Frightening Discovery about Windsurfers”…There’s a “new” Hottie on the beach, and the transformation might not be termed frightening, but it’s definitely noteworthy. Ever since Traig went to the dark side and started not only kiting, but TEACHING kiting, we’ve been looking for a suitable replacement to “Best Hottie at Leo”.

theQ’s hours on the internet searching in vain for TeamPussy.org not-with-standing, he has reached full “Babe” status with his new goatee. Makes him look Fine, and Intellectual, in that sexy Professorial way. Who knew simply growing hair in the right place would produce such results? And he plays guitar and sings soulfully---a Babe magnet for sure!

All the females complaining on the “Old Geezers” topic in the NW need to come south quick before he’s snapped up. Let’s just say if Maria was still around, she’d swoop in pronto.

Embarassed Cool
Perhaps the new me will be "the guy with the S&P beard, doing B&F, when not playing R&B, or internet searching for T&A"?

BTW: This may be the most frightening discovery yet.
