I've now met two former San Quentin inmates (both times at the Ashby launch) who were fascinated by windsurfing and told me about their days spent telling time by the passing of the ferry and watching the windsurfers at Larkspur. I was glad that they didn't harbor any resentment toward windsurfers and seemed genuinely intent on following the righteous path. Someone with some musical talent can set this story to music, along with lyrics, something like..."I see the ferry coming, it's coming round the bend, and all those damn windsurfers are at it again....." (aoologies to the late J. Cash) |

...But I know he had it comin',
I know the wind ain't free,
But those kiters keep a-movin',
And that's what tortures me... |

about twenty years ago i met a guy out at Bolinas who was surfing for the first time after spending six years in prison. He was so happy to be riding waves again. We had a fun surf and it put things into perspective for my teenage mind. |

No, but I play one on TV.
I know there's kiters danglin'
From them fancy kiter bars
They're probably show off
And thinking they're real big stars

I know soneone who killed a man with his thumb.
"There was a young Kiter called Bob
Who wrapped his lines 'round his knob
While squealing in pain
He got air like a 'plane
And one helluva trouser snake throb." |

A windsurfer by name of bassking
Who posts on this internet thing
One day went to sail
But decided to bail
Coz he'd rather be online posting. |
