Near the Kansas border, anyone have any knowledge ?

Bonny LAke...outside of Burrlington, colo. ? If so I was working out there about a year ago and at that time the water level was about 40 foot lowwer than normal. Alot of exposed debri. If it has more water in it it looks like it has potential as the wind fricken rips through there in spring and fall. I asked the rangers if anyone ever sailed ot there; they said people used too but its been abt 10 years since the last windsrfer that they had seen.

So where does one go in Colorado for steady, reliable wind?

If you're in that part of the country check out LAke pueblo, Its a good size ressiviour that gets good wind in spring and fall with many points of access and its own "windsrf beach" street... here are some pics if you're interested....,

but I guess you never tried Budwisssser ? It turns me right off.

I sail at Aurora, mostly cause it 20 mins away, I don't see anywhere in Colorado that would even come close to your inquiry, windy are way too seasonal and predicated lots of times on frontal passage.

I drove to Pubelo last fall, and it didn't do anything for me, it is fairly big.
11 mile I would say the same, if they were closer I would probably frequent. Blue Mesa is supposted to get good wind, been twice and never rigged, no wind, want to try Twin Lakes, for sure wind but REALLY cold and high, interesting drive if nothing else, maybe in July or later.

too bad you gys can't be up here for a spell; we've been getting solid; almost daily, 4.4 -->5.0 conditions w/ descent size surf here on the central cali coast since March....

I've forgotten where in CO you live, Tabou, but wonder if you've checked out Conchas Lake NW of Tucumcari. My God but that place can blow. I've often seen it blow 30+ knots harder and up to 30 degrees warmer than Albuquerque in Chinooks, which are very common there. I've seen overhead swell there only once, but waist high is frequent, as are all-day winds. It was probably my first choice when I lived in NM. Too far for a day trip for you, but worth considering for longer trips; it can blow for days at a time in April and May, maybe June. Also good fishing.
