Hey,
Why don't you join our Long Island Windsurfing community and possibly get a ride to the beach next time. Many of us live in NYC!

I live in Manhattan and so many times almost took the subway to the beach, but I really thought it was just too crazy, but you did it! I was a bit crazier and windsurfed in the Hudson River for about 5 years, right here in downtown.
I sail sometimes in Miami, Florida, and met two Cubans that actually windsurfed and made it to the Keys. Angel said he was the 18th that left Cuba that way! Inspiring stories, yours and all of theirs! |

wow, amazing story. I was always curious about trying out the rivers. How is the wind and where can you launch?

well... I wasn't paying attention that day,cuz I was more focus and on guard of my equipments and paying carefully attention to some "brothers of the hip-hop" that that day decide to make the day with me and my gears... I know that in this country people are use to tolerate and tolerate and tolerate... And I am now in the proses to get use to don't react has I will do back in cuba in a situation like this (don't get me wrong, back there anybody could have any kind of weapons)... but I was just tolerating till one of those decide to touch my gears just with one finger (and then... we where talking in my language, but they didn't reach that point ) for the good of all of us... So I wasn't able to enjoy the trip... but it seams no more than 50 minutes or 1h. |
