Berkeley can't be reliable if the buoys are reading in the 20's from NW. It also gets up and down if Angel Isl Is reading high and Potrero reach is getting good reading from the south.
The first pattern is typical for Peninsula, coast and crissy sometimes Sherman.
The second Pattern is typical for T.I, Point Isabell, Marina Bay and Sherman.
Choose your spot.
Outside of these 2 Patterns (and during the season) Berkeley will deliver good conditions.

i've grown to mistrust berkeley, too. not only does it like to shut off quickly when you're on the oposite side from where you launched but it can feel like it's 5.0 from his lordships parking lot and when you get in the water it's unsailable.

I have been hosed by Berkeley more times than I care to admit and have not sailed there since the Peterson case.

Don't worry, Scott's in prison...he won't jibe in front of you. He launched his boat at Berkeley, but he dumped Laci at Pt. Isabel.

Let's see...lowlifes hanging around parking lots, crappy launches, wind goes from 18 to 35 to zero in the space of 5 minutes...what's not to like?

Those "lowlifes" you refer to are the Grim Reachers, that notorious and dangerous windsurfing gang that hangs out at the east end of the parking lot. But, we do have a beer store nearby, and our few kiters are well trained. As far as the launches, only the little boys complain about them. We LIKE 'em rough! Grrrrrr!
