That could be a glitch because this is a new camp that was added for this year. There is no difference in instruction between this camp and the other California camps. Andy will definitely be there and he will teach freestyle for anyone that is ready for it. --Christopher |

Not a glitch. There is no dedicated freestyle group for that camp. Yes, yes, Andy will still be teaching at the camp. He just won't be teaching a freestyle-only group. I didn't post earlier because I, ahem, didn't want to hijack the thread. |

Water levels have been very low. Any level less than 219.60 is dangerous. I speak from personal experience. Below is the Cdec website and you get real-time levels.

I sure hope they raise the levels for Memorial weekend...we're gonna be there, sailing(?), listening to the Indy 500 on the radio and drinking beer before noon. From past experience, even when its low, you can sail but you just have to really pay attention. I nailed a gravel bar there at full speed once. Once was enough. _________________ /w\ |

Here is the graphical version:

218.2 this morning...Yikes..Water level has been mostly low lately and just like the last few years, many more low water days than high water days. Early season seems best down there with high water..May/June always seems to imply doom.... |

Have you ever noticed that when the wind picks up at San Luis, the forebay level drops!
If it is real windy you can sail down windof the power towers although it can be choppy.

People should bring shovels and picks for the Medeiros side and if the water is low start digging. |

Do any of you SLR experts have a wind prediction for the weekend? I’m considering coming up there for the three day weekend |

Generally you need a big marine layer that stretches all the way into the local valleys. Also Sherman Island generally runs of the same pattern but it depends on if the marine layer comes from the South or North. I don't see a Marine layer predicted for the weekend . Look at satellite maps for fog its been blowing in the morning but not the afternoon lately. |
