I'm going to Maui by way of Oahu this June and I was hoping that a few of you fine folks might have some thoughts as to wind conditions and where to find it this time of year. Also any other cool stuff would be appreciated since I have'nt been there for 30[!!!] years. Mahalo, Bull

Check out this website

Kailua on the east side about 25 minutes from Waikiki can be epic. Lighter winds but its beautiful. North shore is doable at Mokuleia. It is more of an advanced spot with reef and fun waves. Wherever you go have fun but please follow our rules and you will have a good time.
As far as wind conditions go we kite and windsurf with the trades on the east side and june should be good.
Read some of the threads on kiteoahu and you may have some things to do

Aloha, John

Bull,
PM Spyder, he lives over there. Any visit to Oahu will start with Kailua. Sail there or not that is where you will have to go to get gear. Mokuleia or Kailua are your best spots normally. I've been pretty lucky with wind at both spots in late June. Kailua seems to get stronger at the end of the day and Mokuleia seems to be stronger mid day and die off at the end of the day.

Enjoy, I will be there for a short family visit in late July. Much less chance of wind then.

Diamond Head is cool for wavesailing! And the wind is port tack. There is another spot called "Toes" upwind of there too.
