And the "rear" parking area at Marina Bay is so much less exposed to the wind and nicer at the end of the session. Just think of it as 3rd Ave North... pull up, drop your gear off, then go park in the back lot or along the driveway. Change into your suit, rig up, and go. When you come back in, drop your gear off and derig, lean the stuff against the benches so everything drains, go back to your car and get out of your suit (out of the wind), and then pick your stuff up before you leave.
Or just get there early and get a "reserved" parking spot and freeze your butt off LOL
It's just one of those things.... I much prefer the back parking spaces, but I feel so special when a prime spot is open, that I feel I just have to park there. _________________ Kevin Kan

What is all this talking about freezing? I thought it was June? Are you guys talking about some place in Alaska?

Actually, I sailed the Turnagain Arm last summer and it was warmer than Crissy. Kenai Lake, Seward Harbor, and Homer Spit were another story. |

Well maybe I'm just a wimp, but I've been sailing my 5/4 suit in the bay this season. Or maybe as the bones get older, they just don't warm up. Then again, I'm a transplanted So Cal boy also...
Actually the rule for Marina Bay is if you are warm, go home. It only seems to blow cold air there. If you feel warm, then the wind is dying.... |

Has anyone launched from the end of Buchanan street next to the Albany Bulb? I sailed in there on Sunday from Pt Isabel (parking wasn't so bad at 4pm) and it looked like a nice little sand beach. Could be dicy on the lower tides? There were two kiters going in there as well and I assume they launched off this beach rather than the nastyness of Pt I.
Nice little waves breaking along the bulb's point too.
