Is boardsports in berkeley closed for good. And if so, where can we go locally?

You'll have to drive a little, but Helm (101 south, Poplar Exit, left at exit) has everything you could need. Here is their web site:

Check KevinKan at Sunset sailboards in San Francisco. With all honesty the guy is all over the Bay Area. He can get just about anything you need and set you up with the right gear.

Unfortunately, Berkeley Boardsports shut its doors at the end of October 2007. I was the manager there from 1999 to 2003, so it was sad to see it shut down, but the stoke is still alive in other shops here in the Bay Area. I'm a mobile and web based shop for now based out of San Francisco, but I spend at least half my time in the East Bay, so let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Looks like Candlestick is windy today! Let's go! Team Dawg is going there.
