Hi Windsurfers-
Here are some Windfest Weekend activities for the whole family to check out.
Windfest
Date: June 28th and 29th
Time: 10am-4pm
Location: The Event Site, Hood River
You’ll find a beach full of sails and boards to test drive on the water, along with a full schedule of free clinics for all abilities and free introductory lessons offered by a local windsurfing school. Plus you never know who will stop by—last year legendary Robby Naish was on hand to hang out, talk gear and sail with the crowd.
Pray for Wind Party
Come to the 13th annual epic Gorge windsurfing party!
Date: June 28th
Time: 6-10pm
Location: Cathedral Ridge Winery
Join us for live dance music by the Tess Barr Blues Band, fresh island cuisine from Evelyn Weinman of the Beach Walk Project, and a fun evening. This year's hot auction item is a SoloSports Adventure Holiday at Punta San Carlos Baja. This is an all-inclusive trip- food, booze, accomodations, gear, and transportation.
Swap Meet
Date: June 29th
Time: 7am-1pm
Location: Expo Center Parking Lot
Affordable gear to buy sell and trade.
Hope to see you there! (And some wind would be nice, too!).
-Katie

You might think about moving windfest to Rooster rock or jones beach this weekend. |

The wind gods are not a friend of windfest. Maybe it could be a flexible date--between one weekend or the next--so that it is sure to have wind. I desperately want to experience windfest every year, but never have due to a hot weekend and a long drive.

I guess there's extra incentive to go to the Pray for Wind Party this year! |

There will be stand up paddle boards to demo at the Event Site on Saturday and Sunday as part of Windfest. Wind or no wind, come on down! |

Is any type of camping available at the event site this year?

We're going to try and make Hot cookies and Hot dogs at the Hot Sails/2nd Wind booth. Maybe we'll be able to cook them on the sidewalk instead of on the barbeque.
We'll have at least 6 stand up boards for your cooling-off pleasure.

I agree, put your marketing hats on retailers. Simple, makes perfect sense, move it to the wind out West at Rooster Rock. Isn't the customer supposed to come first? |

So since when did Windfest go from being a show where manufactures showed their wares to extended showrooms for retailers? It's one thing to assist distributors with local support and doing all the work with no distributor support. |
