I just bought a Tabou Rocket 145 for lighter winds and need to upgrade to a larger weed fin. I have been using the board with a 7.5 mostly and have been getting some spinout. Currently, I'm using a 13.5 inch weed fin that I use on my 120 L Quatro with my 6.6 and 5.5

i can hold a larger fin down, my dimensions are 220 lbs and 6"1"
It seems on this table there is a ton o overlap in the 7.5 range.
I have no intentions of getting a larger sail. 7.5 is my largest sail.

Here is the True Ames stats and stats on the Rocket, the Rocket 145 is pretty short and stout/modern style, planes easily.

Essentially, looking I guess at a 15.5" or a 17.0"

I am using a weed fin since that is the default in Cape Cod MA during
the summers due to seeweed clumps etc...

Thanks,
Greg

Can understand why the 13.5 doesn't feel strong trying to get onto a plane and then spins out.
What size you choose depends on your skill level.
If you know how to pump the sail and board the 15.5 does have enough surface area to get you going and stay going.
Otherwise go with the 17 inch. You'd just have to watch at low tide on Cape Cod. With either fin you'll feel better.
You might also want to look at your setup to be sure you're not placing too much weight on the back foot. Having said that with the big board and sail combo sometimes you cannot get around higher back foot pressure.
New larger fin will definately help in any case. I sail my MAdd 135 and 8.0 with 90 square inches of fin and it helps alot.
