danks.....
HEY, you ever see a case with a little person zooming by you when you're powered up on fast gear? And you're trying to sail fast?
Just wondering......
I've hardly ever seen such a case, skill level equal.
Just wondering. |

Our fastest local regular is a very big guy, but he's almost always on a smaller sail than the rest of us at 30-70 pounds lighter weight.
PISSES US OFF!!!!

Yeah, efficientcy accounts for something....
Fastest guy around here for years was 195 lbs using usually a 5 meter sail in winds of 17-24mph.
He'd piss off the guys his size who were racers on their 6.5-7.7 slalom gear, and he'd use mostly Gorge style gear. Of course, he didn't race them around their course, he'd freeride using HIS course, and they tried to follow unsuccessfully.
Of course he was faster than me when I used ANY gear. |

I wrote earlier about having the mast track pretty far back under most conditions. Got a new North x-type and apparently this doesn't apply anymore. Maybe I've been using older sails or the boom was too low, but the 6.0 x-type likes to be somewhere in the middle on my 106L JP super-X (2006).
So scratch the earlier post... |
