These thoughts are from a slightly different world, yet are they? I windsurf my brains out down here in shatty FL, year round with all kinds of variations of light wind onshore to side shore winds, tiny to huge surfs with this kit.

Great video John!

No question that the setup you have makes the most out of the conditions.

I've imposed a strict budget on myself this year, no major equipment upgrades. In addition to buying a new Gath helmet, a drysuit neck seal is all that's forecasted.

For now, surfing has taken over due to the lack of wind. With a noon time high tide, end of day sessions for the past week have yielded a B+, C, A, A. The waves haven't been big but good enough for me!

No shore break where I've been recently, but the same principle applies. I spent most of last week and this weekend on an F2 380 Race, usually with a 10.9m (but I did get to an 8.5m twice!). I had an absolute blast, and really remembered why I've always loved longboarding! Also, it's great to be hauling ass when everyone else is either on shore complaining, or home mowing the grass.

You don't have to go out and spend big money on a new board to find the right equipment for lighter air in the North East. There are lots of great race boards collecting dust along with large rigs. You just have to ask around (look for people with #'s on their sails).
