Still on a high from yesterday's adventure.

Yesterday was what it's all about. It was about "run'n with what your brung" - all that old man in the sea sh!t - being the fastest guy on the water - etc...

I was happy with my well worn Sailworks 6.0 Retro, older F2, my downgraded AL Chinook Boom, and aged Fiberspar mast. Although at 63F, my drysuit was the ticket to keeping me warm with the constant downpour. Also key was my Gath Surf Convertable which kept the heat in my head alittle. No glasses.

One of the tacks back from the Chatham side was epic. Overpowered, then on my Haut Board, a total whiteout from the rain - I could have been on a Power-Aid Commercial!!

New England Storm Riding at its Best.

Sounds like a good one, Ron. I didn't take off because todays forecast looked good, and the weather was not inspiring for a 2.5 hour drive.

Looking for speed runs in the big NE to NW winds tomorrow?
Would this be the time for the Strong Island Rd. launch in Chatham?
Never been there, but that's where the wind is.
Any suggestions? Cool
Dean

I've also never been there, but I'll go.
I'll check the wind in the morning before... Shocked

The Scateree landing would probably be better in a NE wind. Not as much work to get where you want to go. If you go to Scataree, the flat water spots are to your left toward Strong Island as you look out toward the water.

The landing at Strong Island Rd. works really well with a wind from the North. I haven't sailed there in a NW wind & might be a little bit offshore.

High tide is around 1pm. I'm working all weekend, but hope everyone has a fun time out there.

Kyle will bring some mid-twenties wind to the outer cape, but the upper won't get anything to make it worth an epic post like Ron's. Where's that Scateree landing? How do you access it from Rt. 28? From what I saw, although the Jacknife landing isn't tide dependant, one has to avoid an hour on each side of low on the outside of Pleasant Bay. I thought that sailing from the Strong Island Rd. would be good in a NE in that you can sail downwind into the deep water of the Bay. However, it was quite satisfactory from Jacknife for me in years past.

Cool Thanks for the launch locations.
Too bad the winds never materialized.
Here is the webcam shot from the pier.

Certainly, I'm glad I didn't jump in the car and head down cape. Nothing hereabouts, either. How about later? Cocoapuff that some great video you have there.
