|
|
Wouldn't it be awesome if there were cams like HatchCam at all the
major sailing sites? It's rather amazing that the Gorge is still so "under-cammed".
If we could find some willing property owners with good views and internet connections, it wouldn't be hard to put something together.
Of course there are some existing cams
(check out a good list at: http://windsurf.mediaforte.com),
but some of these are not too useful - too low-res, or too wide-angle.
Would be great to have quality cams at:
- Nuke Alley / Jones Beach
- Rooster Rock
- Bob's Beach (Stevenson)
- Rowena
- Doug's
- Maryhill
- The Wall
- Roosevelt
If this sounds interesting, please contact me by email.

Windance used to maintain a Dougs Beach Webcam - not sure what happened to it; but I believe it went down a couple of years ago.
Good idea to try and build a larger network! |

The biggest obstacle (besides the cost of the cameras) is access.
If you know of anyone who might be willing to host a camera, please let me know.

Despite the lack of cams, Mike Godsey's and Temira's reports really help. Thank you Mike! |

Didn't Winddance have one looking at the event site/sandbar that could be controlled (panned and zoomed) online? I seem to remember that was pretty sweet for determining where the windline was between the Hatch and the bridge. |

We used to have a pan and zoom camera from the roof top here. That should be easy for me to get going again now that its slowed down. Is anyone a webcam guru out there that can suggest which cam to get that has pan and zoom?.
