Bad news. It was gone yesterday by the time I got there around 5 pm. I don't know who was the clever/nice sailor who initially implemented the system (John??); it sure was helpful to get out by the pipes!
We need to implement this system or better ASAP, especially now late in the season when TI is ususally our only option. While I prefer to launch from 13th St, the pipes is the better option when it's flooding. Any volunteers to help out? |

I was using a 12lbs Trolling Cannon ball weight to moore over at " kitopia up by Sherman Island to moore a boat for a few hours at a time. Never went over to land line tied to shore, I'm sure it's strong enough for a windsurfer rig. |

we used a mooring type bouy (a wooden stick) to hold the board while you get out of the water. It's difficult to get out of the west shore of TI in windy conditions/ crashing waves, steep slippery rocks, you get the idea. This improvised systme worked quite well. Of course, it's always easier to get out if one of your sailing buddies gives you a hand and catches your stuff while you are on the water but there are those rare times when your friends are not around! |

A new line was put in yesterday, thanks! It's anchored to a fair size rock and the wood floats off the center of the pipes. It's a bit further out than the old one, which is good, because my fin got damaged with the old one because it was too close to shore.

Seth,
Get your Graduate engineering students out there and build us a Levitron or AquaHelioCycler. Use the Navy's reclaimed I-131 to power it. |
