C'mon there's been lots of disclaimers, and if you ccan do better, please
tell us....forecast was spot-on last nite
this is just a matter of waiting for a window....maybe go surfing this pm,
but the thing disintegrated and is a bit more east this am.....huge difference in how things turn out. "EPIC" is not on the table..
It's like i said on TV last nite.....i don't think it will be a big deal |

its not my job to do better- thats why we pay this site. its THEIR job to do better. every other site i use for forecasting - NOAA, WINDGURU, etc are much more acurate. So don't tell me that there have been disclaimers - if other sites can get it right (sites that are FREE), then why does the site that I pay for always get it worng? |

The weather service got this wrong too.
The computer models always overestimate the wind near a hurricane. A hurricane is much more tightly wrapped than a regular storm, and if you're not within a hundred miles you won't see any wind from it. |

Yup Outcast, we met at Nauset.
It might be too big for me tonight. I can hear the surf roaring and I live in-town closer to the Bay.
Last Sunday was a good one, chest + high waves w/o wind. Did you go??
I went to the public beach which has (had?) a good bar right out in front. There must have been 20 surfers on it. I didn't want to barge in or wait my turn so I went north on the Orleans side. There is great break there. Maybe sometime You and your Wife might want to take a ride out. No crowds, no waiting in line, and much longer rides.

The consensus at Chapin today was that you pay for iw or iksurf.com to get real time wind reports from meters at the beach.
Forecasts can be hit or miss on this site. What I think pisses people off, myself included is not giving a freaking mid day update, especially when things look to be developing contrary to the morning report then people would have a chance to bolt or go do something else versus hoping that
the 7am update will suddenly 'kick in".
So, my two cents, fror the price, give us a mid-day update. I'm sure the people who do the night update are looking at the weather in the middle of the day and could simply say, "on track with this morning's forecast' or things have changed and state how so....
Thanks,
Greg aka 'another confused guy in the parking lot Sat and Sun reciting the morning forecast over and over again'!LOL |

I agree with the comment about lack of updates. I was with a group of windsurfers on a weekend trip to West Dennis and we spent Sunday morning trying to figure out whether the wind, according to IWindsurf, was going to happen or not. They were forecasting 27-31 in Chatham and we were waiting for something to happen all morning. An update would have been nice, at least to say, "oops, it's not happening now and it won't happen later". Of course, NOAA coastal forecast was even worse, calling for gusts to 50 on the Cape, as of the 10:00 AM update. _________________ http://waterloggedbyscooper.blogspot.com/ |
