Candlestick Development Wind Tunnel Tests

As a recreational windsurfer, amateur weather geek and pro urban planner, I'm amazed and impressed that they going to these lengths to consider impacts to windsurfing (actual wind- tunnel testing!) Surely a testament to your advocacy efforts up there in the Bay.

It is amazing to be sure. It is technically nearly impossible to believe, but none of that matters because indeed by sheer force of will Peter Thorner, Bill Robberson, Jim McGrath, and many others with the SFBA have forced the impacts on recreation/windsurfing to be examined and considered (not just at the Stick, but also in regards to SFO's expansion attempt and the proposed buildings upwind of Coyote Point years ago).

In the ever-urbanizing Bay Area (and State... and Country...), windsurfers and kiters will forever need to use it (the advocacy skill set) or lose it (the access.)

It would be a thrill to know late in life that we kept these various access points viable for the duration (if we are indeed able to). There will be a continuous struggle.
