Early Solid Spring, Predictable windy summer, super solid late season. On the late season part we are getting legit bump and jump in late late october and then first really nice south storm winds come in TODAY.
Its not not even over yet but not too early to talk Best season ever? NorCal Triangle by my definition = Bodega-Rio-Santa Cruz. "Ever" = last 25 years of my addiction.
Enjoy and be safe - All treat no trick.

Where have you been? It's like that every year!
March 'was' unusually good. The mid-late June smoke from the fires put
a damper on mid-season in the south bay. Otherwise it has been a great season,,,and early storm sailing too, usually the southerlies don't start
til Dec. |

Didn't think it was a particularly good coast year, swell was marginal and didn't have one of thos amazing late mega swell days. |

I totally agree with bil7y. I have sailed the coast since 1981 and I don't think I've ever racked up as many days as this season. Lots of waves with abnormally strong North westerlies all spring AND summer. It's just now started to slow down. |

With my humble 4 yrs of bay area experience, I'd say winter and spring were pretty solid. I've not sailed 4.1 completely OPed at the coast until this year, several days in a row. Awesome. The waves have been pretty decent all year round, with several epic southswell days (most of which I missed....aarggghhhh), though never any real "monster" swells. After spring to early summer, it became a little more hit or miss I felt, meaning if you weren't at the right place and time, you didn't get to sail (in stellar conditions). 3rd ave has been pretty bad after spring, whereas candlestick and PA certainly had there moments. September was dominated by an early fall-fade, whereas October made up for that with 2 solid weeks. Summer felt average. Was my most used sail size 4.7 last year, it was 5.0 this year. So certainly more than OK, but not the best I've experienced so far. |

Last Year was much better
Though it started sooner and ended earlier
This year Cold and not windy till almost May ended mid October
Last year sailing in March to end of August much more consistent
almost everywhere in the bay area and on the coast best season in years 2007. |

This was one of the best seasons in recent memory for me. I spent more time on smaller sails than in the past few years March thru last week. Hope next year is a repeat. _________________ mo |

I have to admit, I've been so envious that you folks had a stellar summer season. The conditions in northern SoCal were the absolute worst in my memory. Odd how different things can be just 300 miles away. I'll have to make a point of spending some time in the bay area next summer. |

I moved to the bay area in June from the east coast. I will say that this season was by far the best season I've ever had for windsurfing... |
