nice video... why do you suppose there weren't 100 surfers out there? Thanksgiving weekend? Better waves elsewhere? What time of day was this video taken? The shadows make it look like it's around noon... and it was Sunday...

Very good observations. You're right about everything but you forgot to do your research on the tides. I believe it was going to high tide. There was one long boarder surfing for a short time but he didn't last long.
Don't worry though, the surfers showed up in many numbers for the low tide session later in the afternoon. I'm glad that Dave and I caught the noon session because Tom and Bryan caught the low tide session and got a lot of flack for it. I believe that Tom got into some sort of tangle with one surfer and finished up the session by having to file a police report with the park police.
Yes, things have not changed at FP.
In hindsight, there were 2 good reasons for catching it when we did. No surfers and no exposed rocks. Can you imagine the carnage in either case. The waves were better and bigger anyway.

Thanks Mac
That has got to be the most extreme sport I've seen in while. You could not possibly survive the slightest error.
I have got to try it.

Unreal! It takes skydiving to a whole different level. Absolutely no margin for error. Hate to think about hitting anything, even a startled bird suddenly in your path.
