The 12 hour GFS/AVN looks kind of promising for westerlies tomorrow. Might be worth a try. Anyone else planning to chase wind?

I think the main synoptic forcing (from the front) will be mostly overnight. The UW models (both mm5 and wrf) show the strongest gradient early in the day but still maintain westerlies all day. The front is pretty weak so you might find the best wind in the central gorge. Have fun!

Just looked at the gradient PDX-DLS and it looks like summer!

Maryhill eastward looks like its going off...air temp is still unreasonable at 45F. I'll be waiting for another month methinks.

Really close to 5.2 conditions at The Wall - Rufus today, but I just couldn't go out in that psycho chop.... also wind just didn't fill in all the way. However, at the bridge the wind was much better.... I'd say maybe 4.7 and lotsa cold current w/ chop.... no thanks!
Glad I brought the Mtn. Bike.

I got busy yesterday and couldn't make the drive. Guess I didn't miss anything. Oh well, maybe we'll get some more good weekend easterlies soon. It is that time of year.

I was driving through on the 31st and snapped this at Rowena. I don't know who it is and I didn't think much about it until I saw this thread. Figured I'd post it just for the heck of it. Glad someone was able to get out.
