There is one camp ground that I haven't seen mentioned. It's right in Avon. Which means closer access to to Canadian hole and all the shops but there isn't direct water access like Frisco Woods or the campgrounds in Rodanthe. I've never stayed there but I was planing to try it this year. Here is their info http://www.sandsoftimecampground.com
