Perfect 3.6 at 3-mile today. Surprised that there weren't many people out. Only a few cars and sails at the Wall and Arlington on the drive out. A handful of us were at 3-mile. Warm and sunny with nice steady wind and great swells.

I'm baffled. Where was everyone? Sunshine... super windy... very, very few people out windsurfing.
Spencer forgot to mention that he was sticking back loops just like he used to in the old days!

Yes with those little Scion's you can afford the drive! My bigger "box" only made it 1/2 way. No one was sailing at the Wall or Rufus at noon so I went to Maryhill for the company.
Now I wish I'd mortgaged my house ,filled my tank and gone to 3Mile.
So cool you guys had fun. Looking forward to seeing Spencier backward again! |

I should have stopped by your house and dragged you out there with me. We could have piled all of our stuff on top of my XA.
My weekends are usually pretty busy, but I'm sure I'll see you out there at some point. |

there were 20 or so sailors at Rowena in the afternoon. it was 4.0 for a couple hours then 3.5, good but cold.
Funny thing, i actually left Doug's because no one was there and went to Rowena for the company......I don't mind solo sailing but I hate leaving my car so exposed. |

It would be a honor to be dragged around by you. It should be a fun summer. |

Spencer, perfect 3.6m can't compare with gusty 8m from the spit--with a little rain thrown in as well.

Where was everybody? Enjoying great swell and 3.7 conditions at Dougs/ Rowena most of the afternoon; albeit with rollers not as smooth or sun not as tropical as Roosevelt/3 mile --- sometimes "perfect" is right where you at...making the best of it.
Toss in the environmental ethics of saving gas, $$$, and an extra 2 hours round trip driving (when we could be windsurfing) reminds me of the sage wisdom: Never leave wind to find wind.
Glad ya'll had a great time out in the desert, I'm just thankful I can rip it up close to home in the beautiful Gorge. |
