Let me know when you want to sail TI or Crissy, and I can show you around. As far as TI goes, here's some articles that would be worth reading:

Thanks Kevin. Unless it happens this Sunday (my only free day) it will have to keep till August when I come back from the Gorge. I'll keep it in mind when we get into that season.
However I wouldn't mind hitting Crissy one of these Mondays (my weekday that I have off) to check it out. |

I sailed TI Wednesday. Great wind (OPed on a 4.2), well over a dozen sailors on the water.
When I was rigging, I saw a fellow windsurfer (late model white Sienna) changing into his wetsuit outside his car; his crown jewels were fully visible to me and I'm sure others. This happened right across the street from a bunch of people's front doorsteps. 15 minutes earlier a dozen young girls rode their bikes through led by two counselors.
I thought about saying something but you just never know what reaction you might get.
It would really be great if that flyer mentioned in a previous posting was available (and included things like this) that we could hand out. I'm sure there are plenty of things I'm not aware of. TI is a peculiar situation and it's not always obvious when our behavior is inappropriate.

Busted that was me!
I was indeed jambing to get on the water! I apoligize and it won't happen again. Sorry to offend anyone. I did not see any of the tenants nor any female windsurfers. Still no excuse!
My bad,

I spoke to the neighbor closest to the new rigging area & parking spots (to the right when looking out towards the water from the parking lot). I His name is Bart (older guy wearing Boston Redsox Hat). I asked him how we could be less intrusive to him. He seemed very nice and was supportive of windsurfers rigging. His only request: don't rig in the lawn right outside his apartment (which someone did). I also heard that a kiters dog ran into his apartment on Saturday! People need to be more respectful & careful!
On Sunday, there were several people back at TI for the first time in years (like myself). As the crowd grows, we will need to figure out parking. |

Kevin,
What is the timeline on getting the parking lot back? It seems like that would solve a lot of potential problems and be "win-win" for everyone. Last I heard, the end of June was discussed and here we are. |

I don't think there is a timeline right now. Apparently the problem is more serious than previously thought... imagine that. I'd be surprised if they opened it next year. _________________ Kevin Kan

There's plenty of parking if you don't mind walking a few hundred feet. Just go up wind from the closest spot. You can db park in front of a sailer's car and dump off your gear or rig it at your car and walk it down in the street or behind the apartments. Still less walking than 3rd Ave on a busy day. |

Be very careful about leaving gear unwatched near the launch site. I left my board tonight in the wind-shadow of the trees next to the gap in the fence, while I went back to my car at Northpoint to rig down. I unrigged the first sail, noticed I was missing something, and retraced my steps to see if I had dropped it. When I got back, the board was gone. I was only gone about 10 minutes, maybe 15 at most. I reported it to a Cypress Security guard who drove by later, but I’m not optimistic. If anybody sees a rather old, 90 liter, yellow JP for sale, please give me a call at 510-759-4193. It was my favorite material possession in this world. Thanks. Eric |

Impressive. I never leave gear out of eyesight at TI, or Candlestick, or 3rd, or Crissy... |
