Thanks for the SF Bay tip. I'll check you guys out when I travel up that way. For now it'll be Long Beach for lessons, 40 min's from my house. I was informend that they are the originators of the Windsurfing lesson course and everyone learned how to teach from them. Can't wait to start my new windsurfing adventure this week and looking forward to trying out my new skills some day in your area. Thanks Again!

Unless they taught Andy Brandt I doubt they taught everybody else how to teach Windsurfing. Also try Clewfirst.com they are located somewhere on Southern California and were taught and approved by Andy . ABK is the premier windsurfing school in the nation. look up ABKBoardsports.com

Captain Kirk has been in the biz a long time and he'll know where to go if he does not have lessons.

Captain kirk does have lessons. They teach at cabrillo which supposedly has better wind than long beach. Im taking a jibing lesson there next week.

Clew First Windsurfing provides lessons in the Long Beach area for beginners through advanced windsurfing along with light-wind freestyle. Alamitos Bay and Belmont Shore are our venues of choice, but we do sometimes go to Cabrillo Beach when reliable high wind is needed, such as for waterstarting and the planing jibe.
The Long Beach Windsurf Center also provides lessons for this area and Jeff Jones and I will often refer students to each other when our schedules conflict.
FYI, Clew First is offering two weekend clinics at the end of August, which provides concentrated instruction at a more economical rate than private lessons.
Good wind to you,
Christopher

Thanks for the great info everyone. I'll probably go with the private lessons at the Windsurf Center Long Beach, with I was told Jeff. Problem is I called last Sat. and they told me they'd call back with a day to start and so far they haven't returned my call. Hmmmmm. guess i'll have to call them again. Hope the lessons go a little smoother than that.
