...thanks to all the Kiters at The White Salmon Bridge today. It was unexpectledly windy today, the swell was good, and the kiters polite and attentive to right of way. Nice sailing with you all.

Ditto. My perception is that the interaction between windsurfers and kiters has been really good this year. Finally learning to live with each other? Less crowded because the advanced kiters have been riding the swells in front of the White Salmon bridge instead of near the Event Site? Whatever. It's been good.

Not to ruin the vibe, but it isn't all peace and love out there...

Its too bad this kind of thing happens, because there really is no reason not to get along. However, to keep things in balance, I'll say that the last time I was up in the swell in front of the White Salmon, the kiters weren't an issue at all.

Kiters that can't rip have no business kiting near windsurfers. It is as simple as that. Psycho freaks will likely take themselves out, eventually. Remember The Dangler ? If a kiter is good they can deal with high wind and share the water. The incident described above should be handled by the cops. That fool did a crime and more than one crime.
