|
|
I just recently noticed that Belmont Shores has signs posted at the beach to notify kiters of the rules for kiting at this location. This allows the newcomer to know what the rules are for kiting in the area and helps with safety issues.
Similar signs were created for Leo Carrillo but never posted. It would be great to be able to have a sign similar to what is posted at Belmont Shores.
You can google Belmont Kite Zone sign and get the download of the sign from the internet.

Good idea. You could put it right next to the Warning: No Wind Zone sign.
Sorry, couldn't stop myself...

What is really needed is a sign saying:
WARNING:
NO WIND
KOOKS
FLOATERS

Well, despite the goofy replies to Kathy's post, I think it would be GREAT to have information for kiters at Leo (assuming the wind blows one of these days.) There is a sign at the bottom of the stairs educating surfers and windsurfers of the inherent boundaries. Perhaps the Lifeguards are having a meeting as we speak, deciding who and when the buoys should be placed for a designated windsurfing area, and a kiting area. I'm assuming that's why the lifeguards haven't allowed the signs.
Although it's a moot point, because the wind has been either elusive, coy or basically non-existent.
