I've never seen the Gorge do what it's doing right now, during the July
August spread. I've seen 3 days of heat and no wind, but never 5.
I'm roasting. May have to take up SUP. I blame Al Gore.

Twice ... for about 12 straight days each ... with higher temps ... in July ... the SAME July ... in about 1990.

I am confused, there was wind up till yesterday (sunday), so is today day1 (Mon) and you are forecasting no wind till saturday. Their should be wind thurs/ fri in the central gorge and Jones a couple of these days.

And the gorge she will surprise you and the forecasters when you least suspect it.

Also, Rowena/Doug's at 5/6 am for an hour or two 4.5/5.0 on 100 degree days.

Me, I'm not forecasting anything (up here), I'm just watching the patterns, and seeing little wind and a lot of heat. Maybe planable
Easterlies Weds and Thursday if you have a 7M sail, and I don't
think Jones is gonna save us this time.
Friday iffy, but it does stay light late. So yeh, Monday through
Friday, hope I'm wrong about it.

Me and my dog were driving past Doug's a week or so ago on one of those 90+ degree, still afternoons and there was not a single car in the lot. I thought, what the hell, so stopped and went for a skinny dip with the pooch. Felt good and reminded me of my hippie youth. No shrooms though.

What sail size do you rig for optimism? Wink
The next worthwhile wind I see forecast is next Tuesday, and sources disagree on that.

Temira - "However, the Gorge turns on tomorrow, with east winds in the 21-25 range providing a not-very-cooling breeze in the western Gorge."

Me - I think friday west winds viento/ swell, when the cool down starts friday 92 pdx and still 100+ east side. But my long rang cristal ball gets clouded past two days.

That reinforces my comment once you subtract the current.

Now you've done it..... you'll never EVER want to wear cloths again. Happens every time. People will now have panic attacks seeing your nude body swimming in that there river every day then claim to suffer from post traumatic stress disorder. Then come the lawsuits..... one after another after another. Yep, you'll be sent to the nut house and be castrated and considered a freak of nature... dude, you really need to repent !!
