A handful of times a year I am blessed with a sail sesh at Rowena. I am appreciative of the foresight and hard work that went into establishing the site. My non-sailing wife likes to find a spot on the grass where she can watch everything going on. That brings up the complaint. Why aren’t they watering the grass? It was kind of shocking to drive in this year and just have dead stubble. Since they can maintain West Mayer without any fees it seems they could use the fees collected at East Mayer (Rowena) to at least water the lawn. What is up here? |

It's probably not dead, but dormant, just like my lawn. Yeah, no mowing!
I used to water the small trees along the Deschutes River in the heat of the summer to keep them alive. You could do the same by bringing a bucket with you every time you sail or drive by and watering a spot of grass the size of your wife.
