It looks like the forecast for the boston area is pretty good for tomorrow. I have been considering going to the cape, but would rather avoid the drive if it is going to be just as windy in boston. I sailed once this spring at revere and was surprised by how good it was. Anyone else headed to revere? Does anyone know if there are summer time rule in place that will restrict my sailing at revere?
also when i sailed it was a NE wind. Has anyone sailed in a SE wind at revere? any good? |

I heard on NPR today that they are closing many Mass beaches tomorrow including Revere and Nantasket. I don't know how they enforce it though.
I'm worried that any ocean beach I pick might be closed. _________________ http://waterloggedbyscooper.blogspot.com/ |

bummer... i have to say i am a bit concerned that the recent drownings with bill might ruin our end of summer sailing.
After my last post i realized that another option in ESE and going NE as forecast might be duxbury. |

Ocean side or pond side? Most of the surf forecasts I'm looking at don't show huge surf, except outer Cape late in the day. The ocean side might be O.K. but they might close it. If it goes E it would be straight onshore, not the best.
The harbor master has kicked me out before pondside for not having a partner during a gale warning. He's very unfriendly.
There's got to be a good spot. _________________ http://waterloggedbyscooper.blogspot.com/ |

i find this game of finding access to good sailing site endlessly frustrating.
Last year i was at west dennis beach and was told i had to pack up just as i picked up my gear head out. Funny thing was that it was only blowing 20 and the water was nearly flat. That sucked. |

I hear what yer saying about closings. I think it's almost "like a named storm" thing. Towns don't want the liabllity of losing someone in a named event.

I've been ejected a number of times now, very frustrating.
Where in R.I.? Side off? Newport? I've sailed at 1st beach in NW but never NE. Naragansett? Scarborough works in SE to NE. _________________ http://waterloggedbyscooper.blogspot.com/ |
