Solid 3.7 Easterly from 10 till 3 yesterday in Stevenson, with about 6 of us
out. Almost 60 degree air temps. Surprised not to see more of
the regular irregulars. Sweet November conditions, tough shore break,
at the Boat Ramp.

Yep..... chakra level 3.7.... best of the best actually came early tuesday with 28-35 shore-to-shore with huge, butter smooth swell. Nobody out but yours truly..... where was Craig?

Lack of interest coulda been because all the weather folks were saying it wasn't going to be such a big easterly... thank heaven for my RLS wind chimes which told me it was gonna be GOOD.

Hey buddy,

I didn't make it into town till Weds, but according to the wind graph it was
at least as good Weds as Tuesday. Missed your company on Weds.
Maybe a shot at something out East today if I can tolerate the cold.

I'm out for the season after Monday.

Wind sensors don't show swell quality / size. I sailed 10AM to 2 PM tues and 11AM to 2PM weds at Bob's..... early tuesday scored better than weds because of the large, smooth swell factor.

Dude, Sunday looks like a good tele "pin day" in the pow up at the Hood skinning the hogsback.... too bad ya don't do pins.

I hope you didn't bother. Temira was right @ upper teens; NOAA's all-day wind advisory for averages in the 30s w/gusts to 50 was canceled due to lack of wind before noon. My biggest gear is a 6.2 and 115 liters, so I couldn't have sailed enough to warrant rigging. Let's hope today works better.

I wussed around all day, finished the molding in the condo,
and got my wireless up on multiple PCs. Saturday looked like
Friday from here, but I'm desperate enough to drive out
for 17-20 on Sunday, so I may yet be out. It's all over by Monday
as I have to be back to work by 9AM, which means the Iron Bird
at 6 AM. Tomorrow is my last shot for the season.

My crystal ball sez Sunday will be single digits out east, peaking in the low teens at 11 AM. I wouldn't walk across the street for that. The Wall hit 25-30 today ... from the NNW. The folks who drove to Roosevelt got to swim a lot every time the wind slammed shut and one abandoned airborne kite headed south all by itself (good thing they're so cheap.) The wind was strong but a total joke as far as sailing was concerned. Three guys came ashore a half mile east without any gear I could see; maybe it was lying in the bushes.

I can't believe some of my buds fight this gusty $#!+ all winter; it's bad enough now, when it's still comfortable with bare hands and feet.

OTOH, now is the season -- it's forecast for Monday -- for strong southerly winds directly up the Columbia in smack downtown TriCities, minutes from our homes and offices in a beautiful, showplace park that runs for miles along the river. The swell is just 3' -- 6 feet at its best -- but it beats the one-hour-drive to Roosevelt ALL to heck.

Considering the frequency of loss, it would seem those
"disposable" kites come a dime a dozen?

That's the sacrifice that MUST be made for us regulars to become "irregulars"....
when us social misfits progress to become *extreme* social misfits.
It's tough, but someone's gots'ta entertain them crazy wind gods to make 'em happy....

indeed, it's our duty.
